We are seeking a dedicated team member who understands the need for cleanliness in our school. Under the direction of the Facility and Maintenance Manager and the JAM Early Education Administrator, this position is responsible for performing janitorial duties in classrooms, areas, and workspaces in our facility while maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within our Early Education department. This role includes cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, bathrooms, and other areas, managing janitorial supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Quality customer service must be provided to the client at all times. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential. This position is 20 hours per week with regular shifts from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday. For the right candidate, additional hours may be available.

Incentive Compensation

$10.50 - $15.00 hourly

Physical Requirement

- Ability to lift and move boxes and equipment of various weights; climb ladders as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch; Ability to climb, push, and pull
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

- Dust, clean, and reset classrooms to ensure a welcoming and sanitary environment
- Clean and sanitize furniture, equipment, and frequently touched surfaces
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop flooring to maintain cleanliness
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, and other fixtures
- Restock supplies in bathrooms and classrooms as needed
- Empty all trash cans and replace liners; clean receptacles as necessary
- Clean window sills and windows to maintain visibility and appearance
- Utilize various cleaning chemicals and equipment effectively and safely
- Properly label and dilute all cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines
- Maintain all janitorial supplies and equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition
- Communicate with the Facility and Maintenance Manager regarding building and inventory needs
- Coordinate with other janitorial staff members as needed to ensure comprehensive coverage and efficient operations
- Address Early Education janitorial needs promptly with accuracy and professionalism
- Wear proper safety equipment and/or personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to ensure personal safety and compliance with health standards
- Perform additional cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facility and Maintenance Manager or as required by emergent needs within the Early Education department
- Participate in all required training, initiatives, and meetings
- Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; Good client/customer service skills
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willingness to learn
