Employer Overview

JAM Center offers a Before and After School enrichment program called I14. The program is located at the Garrett-Keyser-Butler School Annex. At I14, children are exploring concepts of the world around them through conversation, imagination, investigation, and innovation. It is a chance for children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade to work on practical life skills while igniting their curiosity and desire to learn about the topics that interest them. The students enrolled in our program are planned for based on their individual interests, needs, and learning goals. The way children choose to invest their time will look different for each child.

We are seeking a dedicated Before and After School Teacher to join our team and provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for school-aged children. In this role, you will supervise children through structured activities, provide homework assistance, and monitor free play during morning and afternoon hours. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and able to create a positive atmosphere that encourages learning and social growth. You will work closely with families and colleagues to support the needs of each child. This position offers a flexible schedule, with hours available before the school day begins, after it ends, or both.

Our operating hours for the school year are 6:00 AM until school drop off and after school pick up until 6:00 PM. Our operating hours are 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM on school breaks, e-learning days, and school cancellations. Our staff hours may vary within those times. We value the dedication of our teachers furthering their education, so we support and accommodate school schedules. For those interested in furthering their own Early Childhood education, we offer additional assistance to eligible candidates of the TEACH scholarship.

Our organization strives to maintain a collaborative and supportive environment not only in the classrooms, but the entire facility. When we refer to our “JAM family”, we mean it!

We provide on-site training for all of our staff. The classroom portion of training includes a 2-week training and shadowing period with the lead teacher of the classroom. It includes observing and hands-on experience. In addition to the training with the lead teacher, new teachers will meet with the Pedagogista to reflect in principle. The meetings with the Pedagogista are ongoing to support professional development. At JAM Early Education, we believe that learning is lifelong and just as our students, our teachers are all in different places in their journey. We meet everyone where they are!
