Under the direct supervision of the Chief Wellness Officer, this position provides fitness instruction, markets and monitors personal and small group training, educates patrons on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for participants.
$20-35 hourly

Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; providing adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching and cool down
Instructs patrons on effective workout methods, explains proper techniques, proper use of equipment, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles; make suggestions and adaptations when necessary
Prepares music, routine and needed equipment before class time
Assists participants, answers questions, and maintains a positive experience for all class participants
Evaluates clients’ needs and goals, designs individualized workout programs to meet those needs and goals, and tracks progress
Stays current in research of current wellness trends
Completes all other duties as assigned by the Chief Wellness Officer
Extraordinary interpersonal communication and the ability to interact well with the public is a must
Currently certified in CPR/First Aid/AED, be certified within 60 days of hire, or be certified at the next JAM hosted training, as directed/documented by the Chief Wellness Officer
Certified Instructor certification is required (ACE, AFFA, NETA, or Specialty Certification).
Ability to guide and motivate clients
Ability to self-market and promote as clientele and workload will be determined by self-marketing and relationship building
Previous experience as a personal trainer or relevant role
Ability to work flexible hours
