Employer Overview

- Prepares, inspects, and adjusts food for proper quantity, quality, and handling
- Prepares food according to standard menus, recipes, and state guidelines
- Collaborates with the Kitchen Manager to meet state requirements on the menu, serving, and components
- Delivers dishes and food in a sanitary and timely manner according to state and classroom standards
- Collects and cleans all dishes related to JAM Early Education and other daily operations of JAM Center according to state standards
- Actively participates in the cleaning of the kitchen and kitchen equipment; assures that standards of sanitation and safety are met
- Maintains necessary supplies and goods for assigned meals
- Operates standard kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, choppers, grinders, etc.
- Follows and maintains kitchen cleaning checklists and schedule
- Becomes knowledgeable of practices, methods, and procedures of large scale food preparation, food values and nutrition, personal hygiene, food handling, sanitation, safety precautions, care and use of kitchen utensils and equipment, record keeping, and report preparation.
- Be a team player and collaborative
- Maintain CPR/First Aid certification
- Complete and maintain Food Service and Sanitation training/Safe Serv or equivalent training
- All staff is responsible for maintaining positive, courteous, and professional relationships with JAM Early Education students, JAM Early Education families, all JAM Center employees, all JAM Center members, professional staff from other agencies, and the greater community

Experience Requirements

- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Food Service and Sanitation/Safe Serv training or equivalent preferred
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
