GARRETT, Ind. — Families from across the region gathered at JAM Center on May 9th for JAM Family Fest: Loving Benjamin’s Day of Family Fun, a community celebration that combined recreation, connection and charitable giving in support of two organizations dedicated to strengthening families.
Hosted at JAM Center, the event welcomed attendees for a full day of activities, including open swimming, bounce houses, face painting, games, vendor booths, a community health fair and a hybrid silent auction. The fundraiser benefited both JAM Center and Loving Benjamin, with proceeds shared equally between the organizations.
JAM Center serves families throughout DeKalb County and the surrounding region through programs focused on wellness, youth development, education and community engagement. Loving Benjamin provides support, resources and compassionate care for families experiencing perinatal and infant loss.
“Family Fest was a wonderful example of what can happen when organizations come together around a shared purpose,” said Kierra Boylan, event coordinator and staff member at JAM Center. “We were honored to partner with Loving Benjamin and create an event that brought joy, connection and support to so many families while raising awareness for the important work both organizations do every day.”
Throughout the day, families enjoyed opportunities to connect with local businesses, nonprofit organizations and community resources while participating in activities designed for all ages. The event also featured a silent auction and membership promotion that encouraged community members to continue supporting JAM Center's mission year-round.
“The families served through Loving Benjamin’s mission often walk through some of life’s most difficult moments,” said Boylan. “Events like this remind us that community matters. We are grateful for everyone who attended, volunteered, donated and helped make the day such a success.”
Beyond fundraising, organizers said the event helped highlight the importance of supporting families through every season of life, from recreation and wellness opportunities to grief support and healing services.
JAM Center’s mission is to strengthen families, promote wellness and build meaningful community connections through inclusive programs and experiences for all ages. Loving Benjamin provides hope, support and resources to families navigating perinatal and infant loss.
